Nickelodeon’s Dora The Explorer takes center stage at church.  I heard of a message entitled Swiper No, Swiping was to be preached.  The minister  said sometimes you  have to tell the Devil Swiper, No Swiping and said sometimes you have to break it down for the slow folks. I would agree but Swiper, No Swiping is a spell, not a sermon. There is never a dull moment.

For those who are unfamiliar with the series, the plotline of each story, both on television and in books, follows a similar formula. Dora and her monkey friend named Boots (who incidentally wears nothing but boots) encounter some animal that needs help getting somewhere, and with aid of a talking map and backpack, they find directions, ready supplies, and begin their adventure. Along the way, they encounter numerous talking animals and trees, small animals who appear from nowhere to play a transitional-scene theme song, and other marvelous creatures on their enchanted romp through the (super)natural world. One common plot element involves the entrance of the villain Swiper the Fox, who inventively appears and attempts to steal something from the adventurers. However, they are usually able to foil his plans by calling out, “Swiper, no swiping!” three times in succession.  After this, Swiper cries out, “Oh mannn!” and sulks back into the unmapped forest.- PopsMatter

Perhaps in Demonology 101,  it is a spell. While Dora the Explorer is listed as a 7-year-old (seemingly harmless) character, it introduces the children to explore witchcraft and magic. Catchy phrases are cumbersome and understandable , but after knowing Dora’s Swiper No Swiping (3x)  is witchcraft spell, should it be used?

2 Corinthians 2:11 KJV: Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices

Christians speak the word of God against the enemy. Jesus said get thee behind me. The old testament says does reveal protection of God’s people being covered by the  blood.

Exodus 12:13 KJV And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you.

Dora’s Swiper is not needed.

The blood of Jesus still works. Ephesians 1:7 KJV In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.

Revelations 12:11 KJAnd they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.

The power of the blood of Jesus.  It is not outdated or belittled. It is not of mild interpretation of the elderly saints of old. It is revelevant.

Psalms 107:2 KJV Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy.

Satan is the prince of the power of the air according to Ephesians 2:2 KJV . We know the devil is lurking, such as that Swiper fox in Dora.

1 Peter 5:8 KJV Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

We can speak according to the Bible knowing.  Jesus said, Get thee behind me Satan. Get thee hence. There is not much need for using a spell on Satan or telling him Swiper No Swiping three times. The devil is going to flee anyway once when saints of the most high God have followed the instruction in order. Principle number one is submit to God. James 4:7 KJV  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

It is important  to monitor what the kids view on radio, tv, headsets, music and books. The eyes, ears etc. are entrances.  These are esentially gates.  These are ways that children’s spirits may become tainted while their parents are left wondering what has happened to the child. Some parents watch the shows but sometimes things are so sub-planted until it is not manifested to them. Again, Dora’s Swiper chanted three is a spell.
