Joel and Victoria Osteen are hosting their “America’s Night of Hope” tour, ticket scalpers are in high gear.

Houston Chronicles

The tour by Lakewood Church s pastoral couple starts Saturday at Yankee Stadium. It will be the second time the Osteens have spoken at the baseball team’s new home, which opened in 2009.

On Thursday morning, two seats in the first row of the stadium’s Delta Suite B were for sale on eBay and StubHub for $850 each.

“We’ve had this issue since we started doing tours about 10 years ago,” said Andrea David, spokeswoman for Lakewood Church and JoelOsteens Ministries. “We encourage people to get their tickets from the official venues or our website ticketmaster.”

In an effort to minimize ticket scalping, the Joel Osteen organization does not sell tickets in large blocks, Davis said.

The problem is not unusual. On the New York Yankees ‘ “official Ticket Exchange website,” where the slogan is “sold by fans, verified by Ticketmaster,” someone is offering two seats for the 1:05 p.m. July 26 game against the Toronto Bluejays for $2,064 each. The seats are in the front row of Section 210.

Marginalization of profit also gear up on Osteen’s future tour experiences with the sales price at the Rogers Arena event in Vancouver  currently listed at $778 on eBay.
