Pastor Bill Winston “We claim debt cancelation now, in Jesus name! Amen.” Pastor Bill Winston advises church congregation to bring forth their debts  to be placed in the silver tin-can trash bin, as the proceeding of the bill burning sacrifice began. As Winston held a stick in his hand, he began saying “Lord according to Mark 11:24 Whatsoever things ye desire when you pray… that word receive means to take.We claim debt cancelation, Jesus name!” Some members began shouting and texting “debt free”! While it may sound pleasant to the ears (it is vain),the irony of things is that assurance of being debt free may not be likely possible for the most of the hundreds of attendees,if they have bills in which they have not paid.

Are mega pastors as such,  leading congregations to the slaughter-house?

A Burnt Sacrifice Burning bills in a trash can is not likely a burnt sacrifice mentioned in the Bible, neither does burning paper equate to being debt free.It is no disrespect to pastor, but isn’t pastor supposed to do what the word of God says first and foremost. While we know God can work miracles, the principle should be to pay your bills. Psalms 37:21 KJV The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth. Romans 13:8 KJV says Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. Therefore,  burning your bills does not make you debt free, paying them does. After coming from the bill burning debt free cancellation gathering, many members will be vulnerable to maxing credit cards, not paying the water bill or any bills which encourages further debt. We must  be aware that God is not a spiritual Santa Claus(fictitious character wherein people look to for gain). In fact even outside of any bills we would ever incur ourselves, God is really not obligated to pay them. Somehow the members are being taught carelessly to sky-rocketedly incur debt, then burn it up because Jesus paid it all, so we do not owe no more? Those are some of the things you will hear. That would be nice, but is that responsible?,and isn’t that just usary of God without clear motive. In fact after all The True and Living God has done for us, we do him (our life). Of course there are certain times wherein many of saints are trying and not irreverently building debt, and he is able to do the things impossible with man, and he is able to make away make out of no way, when times seem to be tight.  Philippians 4:19 KJV But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. The scripture has nothing to do with greed. It is speaking of need. He would not have his people ignorant.  Some men have garnered God out to be something exclusively for  physical gain and looking to their own quarters

Burning your bills will not make you debt free, but it can rather leave you without the usual paper statement to be presented to accounts payable, and burning your bill  could leave some being unaware/ignorant to the fact of how much they owe, or not really caring at all. Pay your bills Winston did not cancel them.Pastor Winston flies in a jet as does many of the other labeled as prosperity preachers does (associations with Kenneth Copeland, Creflo, Jesse Duplantis etc) which is alright but their richness is courtesy of,pimping, or being paid off by the ignorance of people, and often they will relate God wants all members of the congregation rich which is essential to their teachings of the word faith movement. Their whole tackle on faith, is very sadly not the biblical faith although the church is large. They have garnered totally the contrary which has misconstrued the average person from the faith at all or following simple scripture or even blessing someone. Not everyone wants to be rich. God wants us to be the lender and not the borrower Deuteronomy 15:6 KJV, Psalms 23:4 KJV Labour not to be rich, Mark 10:25KJV It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. While many congregants may wish to have a jet,be debt free, they will not. That really should not be the purpose of presentation for any pastor. There are a lot of finance series, no bible just gimmicks to draw a large crowd. The average congregant will not get a jet.   God does not even won’t us looking to material things like that as it as it easy to become consumed with looking through material eyes.  Pay your bills, if you have them.  Regarding the  debt free cancellation? Faith without works is dead according to James.  Faith without and underlining principle ( could be stewardship and of that being faithful and obligated unto God first, not man and everything else comes after prospectively).Pay what you  have set out to do.

I can remember years ago a man came to run a revival in a church who had the congregants to write their business such as debts and things on a sheet, and placed it on the altar. By the end of service,  he went home and left all the paper on the floor for the host church to clean up. No care in the world.  The papers had each persons business obligations. Frankly there are some ridiculous things go on, and many following strange voices!  The minister knew it was not right but when interior motives and charisma sometimes people are ingulfed by it. Wide is the road to destruction. Matthew 7:13KJV Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:Amos 8:11 KJVBehold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: God needs true people to stand up.
