Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins. ~ Isaiah 58:1

According to Wendell Mosley, “My friends today bear witness that what they call Christian Music is nothing more than Secular Music. At one point I stated that there was nothing wrong with what they were singing about however, I have changed my opinion as they are offering to God musical inner workings that have come from devils, its all one big happy family. We have addressed this issue on several occasions. I recall Pastor Lewis saying after speaking with Kirk Franklin; He told him that the mixing of the gospel and secular/hip-hop music had been unsuccessful. Unfortunately until now! It is our duty as Christians in all things to draw a line between the sacred and profane. I mean, aren’t we suppose to be singing unto the Lord? Not to the world. (Bottom line, it’s about CD sales, marketing and secular appeal.) John 17:16 tells us, “If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. And if you flip a few chapters forward, 1 John 2:15 you read, ”If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”   When the world and/or industry celebrates you, then obviously your not preaching CHRIST. But you’ve made it alright!! Right inside Baals courtyard!  Why do we continue to take the bait? $ Mary, Mary hasperformed with David Banner, LL Cool J, and recently they expressed a desire to record with TI.

Although this is nothing new (This has always been one of the industries great achievements. Yolanda Adams performed and/or recorded with Bone Thugs and Harmony)  We just loving the world!? But I will let James 4:4 tell it, “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” Many seek the affirmation and validation from being famous and known among SINNERS! Their need for acceptance and unity brings about nothing more than  a watered down version of the gospel and hybrid converts. The world is performing in our churches and the so called believer is on  stage and on tours with godless artist and entertainers. But wait, then when your doing “SOMETHING BIG,” like BETs 106 & Park, you say stuff like, “Were not professing to have all the answers.” WHAT!!! but your supposed to be professing Christ? HE IS ALL THE ANSWERS!!!  Nobody at 106 & Park appeared concerned about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. (shaking my head) Check this out:

[Radio interview with Devi Dev at 93.5 KDay: goggle it!!]

Devi Dev: Out of the hip hop category, is there anybody that you guys are really feeling right now?

Mary Mary (Tina): Yeah, I like TI. TI is so tight. I gotta buy the Walmart version, though. (she chuckles) I don’t know what he’s really saying. I have the Walmart version and it’s all really nice.

Devi Dev: So, you don’t have the real one?

Mary Mary (Tina): (laughs) No, we don’t really know what that one is saying. But, I listen to his whole body of work and I think sometimes that people classify you on whatever that hit is, and that might the feel of radio and what everyone thinks is the biggest, but when you listen to their whole body of work it tells the story of who they are. I like listening to his story. Good album.

Devi Dev: Once he gets out, I would love to hear a Mary Mary collabo…

Mary Mary (Tina): I wouldn’t mind that! TI, you want to come talk about Jesus with the Marys, let’s do it man!

“We’ll just get in where we fit in!?”

“We had a publisher who was like, ‘What are you guys talking about? Goosebumps?’ because we were using words like ‘the anointing’ and ‘presence and power of God,’ ” Erica says. “They didn’t get it. That was great for us to hear early on, because it allowed us to write music from then on out that would translate to people who were un-churched.”

“Some people will hear a song, love it, find out it’s a Christian song, pull it. Now, to me, that’s insane,” Tina says.

“You have to push a little more,” Erica says. “Listen to this song, and they say, ‘Oh, it’s gospel,’ so they push it into this category until they listen.”That drive has kept the Campbell sisters rocking night clubs and churches, inspiring fans on all sides of the spiritual divide.

According to Mary, Mary a fan said, “I’ve been in prison, wrongfully accused and it was YOUR cd that help me keep my head up…”
In music there is coercion, if not careful it can often speak to your issues and emotions only and in this context the gospel of Jesus Christ  makes no sense to the unbeliever.  People draw affections to the artist and give credit to their works. A great percentage of gospel music today is self centered love songs with limited or no doctrine at all, but full of boogie and feel good hooks. (Me, I, Me,Ohhhh!!)  If you want to sing to the world then just cross all the way over and stop confusing our young people with this foolishness. Besides, It’s not our talents, gospel lullabies and hip-hop beats that draws people. It’s the power of the Holy Spirit.  And if your operating under the spirit of this world, then who or what is doing the drawing? “Its the god in me!” pun intended. Whats next Lil wayne hosting TBN? In these last hours I believe God is raising up musicians who will not compromise, singers and worshippers who will continue to exalt the name of Jesus and not bow at the feet of baal and the spirit of this age.
In Love,
